New Balance Athletes Donating Over $1 Million in Sneakers to Healthcare Workers

sneaker news

New Balance have been championing efforts to combat COVID-19, and now their own champions have joined the relief efforts. NB’s brand athletes are coming together to donate over $1 million worth of sneakers to healthcare workers on the frontline fighting the virus.

The initiative has been backed by the likes of tennis ace Milos Raonic and track star Sydney McLaughlin, with approximately 13,000 pairs to be donated to workers in the New England area including Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Stephens Memorial Hospital; while Missouri Baptist and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis will also receive pairs.

‘[W]e are being tested,’ says Raonic. ‘I am grateful for the ability to partner with my family at New Balance to show my gratitude to these heroes.’

These latest relief efforts add to the previous monetary and face mask donations from the Boston-based brand.
