NEIGHBORHOOD's Sin Takizawa Teases New UNDEFEATED x adidas ZX Colab
Sin Takizawa of OG Japanese streetwear label NEIGHBORHOOD has just revealed a new collaboration with UNDEFEATED and adidas. It’s been a little while since the three parties worked together; the last time they linked up was on the Micropacer and Official Mid 80s back in 2014.
This teaser reveals two colourways of what is likely to be the ZX 8000, which has been in prominent adi rotation since its 30th anniversary in 2019. Its frequent presence has also largely been due to the ongoing A-ZX Series that commenced last year. Here, NEIGHBORHOOD and UNDEFEATED add to the growing number of ZX 8000 releases with some notable modifications.
The first obvious add-on is the Dellinger Web on the outsole of the heel’s midsole, which is an anachronism nodding back to earlier adi tech. Another addition that may not be immediately noticed at first glance is the zippered stash pouch at the top of the tongue – recently featured in another ZX 8000 colab between BAPE and UNDEFEATED.
Otherwise, the finishing touches are fairly conventional, which include woven faux carbon inserts, reflective-infused rope laces, and co-branded NEIGHBORHOOD typefaces underneath UNDEFEATED’s five-strikeout logo.
And in the words of Takizawa, this upcoming colab is coming ‘soon’. Stay tuned for the drop.
