The NBA x WNBA x Nike Dunk High Is A Bucket!
have been celebrating the 75th anniversary of the with team-centric takes on kicks like the and the , but their latest high-top EMB is a bit more literal than past releases. It's inspired by a basketball, and nods to both the NBA and the WNBA with some special branding. In short, it's a bucket in shoe form!
Uppers are built from orange-brown basketball leather, with smooth leather gracing the toebox and quarter panel while fittingly pebbled basketball leather is used on the mudguard, eyestays, collar flaps and heel. Though the lighting on the official product photos above makes it somewhat hard to discern, it appears as if the collar is crafted from a luxurious satin for some high-end hoops flair.
The yin and yang of white lateral Swooshes and black medial Swooshes serves up interesting contrast, but it's safe to say that this shoe's most interesting detail is in fact on the inner half of its tongue. There, an NBA logo sits directly next to a WNBA logo, acknowledging basketball's status as a globally beloved sport. There's also a high-vis reflective logo that's curiously placed on the insole (really, when would you see that?), while cream midsoles and hoop-ready outsoles round off the look.
A release date for this women's-sized Dunk has yet to be announced, but it's likely to hit retailers in the coming weeks. Expect its MSRP to be set at $110.
