NBA Player Wesley Matthews Blows Out the Nike Zoom Freak 1
It looks like Zion isn’t the only player doing damage to their sneakers. The Milwaukee Bucks’ Wesley Matthews burst through his Nike Zoom Freak 1s yesterday while playing against the Golden State Warriors.
The Zoom Freak 1 is the signature sneaker of his Bucks teammate Giannis Antetokounmpo, which has yet to see any problems until Matthews’ blowout. Check out the video below of his foot shooting through the base — the insole goes flying out!
I think @Giannis_An34 probably owes Wes a new pair of Freaks after this 😂 pic.twitter.com/ZJyXDeTSvZ

In 2018, Zion Williamson infamously tore a pair of PG 2.5 in a similar fashion, which sidelined him with a knee injury. Before that, Manu Ginobili blew up the Air Max Closer 4 back in 2014!
Thankfully, it doesn’t look like Matthews sustained any damage from the incident.
