Nas is the Face of the Aimé Leon Dore x Clarks Wallabee Colab

Following the announcement of their upcoming Clarks Wallabee collaboration, Aimé Leon Dore have called up Queens native, GOAT-conversation rapper, and crepe-sole connoisseur Nasir Jones, aka Nas, to head up the collection’s accompanying editorial photoshoot. In typical ALD hiding-in-plain-sight style, they’ve also revealed there are a total of four colours.

These aren’t just your typical suede Wallabees. ALD substitute in fine Italian Casentino wool – a material showcased in their current clothing collections – across the uppers, retaining the OG suede trim on the ankle collar and toe box stitch strip. Underfoot is its essential slab of crepe rubber (though the occasional Vibram swap is acceptable) in all of its squishy goodness. Some classy finishing touches include the dual suede swingtags, woven ALD collar label, and stamped branding. This special release is also marked by production in Clarks’ premium Portugal factory.

And as seen in the shots above, the classic beige edition is being joined by an equally classic blacked-out upper alternative. While ALD introduce two seasonal colours in very lush deep green and a spicy orange option.

Neither Clarks nor ALD have publicly announced the drop date – yet. Stay tuned for what will likely be an imminent sell-out release, as evidenced by ALD’s recent New Balance 550 effort.
