The word 'grail' is thrown around a lot when it comes to . Many use it to describe a coveted colab or remastered retro with production numbers well in the tens of thousands (at least!). If you are talking true grails however, there's not much out there that can top a genuine pair of  court-worn Jays – especially a pair worn in a championship year!

The opportunity to land yourself such a significant slice of Jordan history doesn't come around often, but for those with savings to splurge, today's your lucky day. OG  apparently worn in the 1997 NBA playoffs, and in the legendary '' colourway, have just hit auction. The pair is said to have been worn by Jordan in Game 3 of the 1997 Eastern Conference Finals, where the Bulls claimed a 98-74 victory over the Heat – 34 of those points thanks to the GOAT.

The current owner, Christine Koenig, served as a segment producer at WFLD-TV Chicago back in 1997. Hosting a segment with Bulls equipment manager John Ligmanowski at the Berto Center on June 5 of that year (the same day as Game 5 of the NBA Finals), Koenig claims Ligmanowski gifted her the pair, stating their significance in the process. The pair is a US 13, which is in line with previous game-worn Air Jordan 12s.

Grey Flannel Auctions are facilitating the sale, the same mob that . That particular pair, which were autographed by Jordan, sold for a staggering $104k back in 2013!

The bid currently stands at $2750 – just $250 above the opening. There's still 16 days left at this point until the auction ends, although you'll need to be pre-approved if you are planning on bidding. Could there be a more perfect present for the Jordan fanatic in your life this Christmas?
