Can you believe His Airness is 60 years old? Michael Jordan is celebrating his birthday this week by making the largest ever individual contribution to the Make-A-Wish foundation, the Charlotte Hornets owner donating $10 million.

‘For the past 34 years, it’s been an honour to partner with Make-A-Wish and help bring a smile and happiness to so many kids,’ Jordan said in a news release. ‘Witnessing their strength and resilience during such a tough time in their lives has truly been an inspiration.’

Jordan has been supporting Make-A-Wish since 1989. In 2008, he was named Make-A-Wish Chief Wish Ambassador. The organisation cited the ‘life-changing impacts he has had on wish kids and their families.’

‘I can’t think of a better birthday gift than seeing others join me in supporting Make-A-Wish so that every child can experience the magic of having their wish come true’, Jordan said.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to granting the wishes of children diagnosed with a critical illness. The organisation was founded in 1980 and has since granted over 500,000 wishes to children in the United States and in more than 50 other countries around the world.
