Michael Jordan Buys NASCAR Team, Hires Star Driver Bubba Wallace

Michael Jordan NASCAR 2021

Michael Jordan’s love for motorsports is well documented, and he’s shifted up a gear with the announcement overnight that he’s just purchased a NASCAR Cup Series team. And boosting this endeavour’s chances at glory is the hiring of rising star driver, William Darrell ‘Bubba’ Wallace Jr.

In partnership with veteran driver Denny Hamlin, MJ’s new team will begin competing in the 2021 season of the NASCAR Cup Series. The pairing of MJ and Wallace (who recently announced he was leaving the Richard Petty Motorsports team) is set to bolster diversity in a sport that has historically underrepresented racial minorities, and will be the first black-owned NASCAR team in over 40 years.

The name of the team is yet to be announced, as are other details like the car number, manufacturer, and other personnel. For petrolhead sneakerheads, this could potentially mean some more limited edition releases
