MARKET to Release Limited Bootleg Salomon x Converse Chuck 70
Design brand are not afraid to stir the pot when it comes to bootleg-inspired product – in fact, this very ethos is what inspired their inception in the first place. The latest mischievous product they’ve put together is an unlikely pairing of the fitted with the patented Quicklace system from an actual pair of Salomon running shoes.
The following is an excerpt from MARKET’s DM to Sneaker Freaker:
‘We took the classic Converse Chuck 70 and reworked that thing into a gorpcore dream. Using official Salomon lace locks, we also added a small pocket at the top of the tongue to keep them tucked away. Reflective branding on the outer, complemented by a rubber patch on the inner, with a large print over the tongue.’
In more elaborate terms, MARKET have also whipped up some cheeky logo flips on Photoshop and rendered Salomon’s distinct tongue strip font to spell out their brand name instead. Furthermore, the lateral logos also read MARKET but in the Salomon typeface, which is also rendered reflective.
According to a follow-up post made a few hours later, the ‘Salocons’ – as some commentators have dubbed them – will see a limited release via MARKET’s web store on April 28.
