A North Carolina man was recently sentenced to four years in prison for allegedly buying $250,000 worth of sneakers with a stolen credit card!

Back in 2018, Pineville man Charles Brown and his co-conspirators obtained a credit card number that belonged to the head of basketball at California State University in Northridge, then went on a spending spree. In less than a month, they reportedly purchased at least 565 pairs of kicks with the soteln card details! Most of the shoes were size 10, and were found by Federal agents that same year.

Since his arrest, Brown has pleaded guilty and is set to be locked up, in addition to being ordered to pay more than $237,140 in restitution.
