Peter and David Jacobsen founded MacKenzie in 1985, spurred by the obsession of making the perfect golf bag. The Portland-based duo have since gained a reputation as one of the finest golf bag and accessory brands around for their expertly crafted custom products. Here’s one of their latest creations that will certainly delight those sneakerheads who also get out on the green.

MacKenzie golf bags are typically made using tough and durable fabrics such as waxed cotton or heavyweight leather. But, how about a vintage Nike Flight jacket? This impressive garment had lived a good life, and still had plenty more to give from its intricate red embroidery. And nylon, an incredibly lightweight and water-resistant textile that’s been used since the 1930s, proved to be the perfect material to make a front pouch for this golf bag.

The important details have been retained on this upcycled piece, namely the aforementioned large Flight embroidery. MacKenzie have also kept the chest section of the jacket as the front face of the pouch, preserving the Nike embroidery too, while adding a handy red leather pull tab to the middle zipper. With the devil looming in the details, the OG Jumpman/Flight logo shows up on the inside of the pouch when the zip is lowered.

Nice work MacKenzie!
