M&M'S and adidas Have Crafted Candy-Coated Forums
adidas, have taken a bite out of the world of candy/footwear collaborations, tapping M&M'S for a sugary take on the Forum Lo '84. Inspired by the yellow M&M character from the brand's commercials, the low-cut design offers a customizable candy style and plenty of grin-inducing details.
Uppers take on a high-gloss yellow leather to represent the candy shell on M&M'S, while their chocolate innards are acknowledged by brown detailing on the midfoot's Three Stripe graphic and the sockliner. Other special details include M&M'S-inspired perforations on the toebox and a candy-printed graphic on the collar strap.
What makes this candy-coated colab interesting, however, is the customizable aspect it offers. According to the product description, this sneaker comes equipped with six sets of extra laces, a whopping 20 lace jewels, two interchangeable straps and even a removable logo on the side. Seen in the images above are a handful of those options, like a full figure of the Yellow M&M pondering the whereabouts of his buddy Red, a Jeremy Scott-esque logo panel looped through the laces and a standard yellow M&M on the lateral midfoot – a quizzical choice, as Yellow is a peanut M&M. Although it may be tempting, be sure not to take a bite out of these Forums. They're for wearing, not eating.
A release date for the M&M'S x adidas Forum Lo '84 in yellow has yet to be announced, but will likely appear soon. It'll release at retailers like Subtype, and be priced at $250 Australian dollars (roughly $185 US).
