Luka Dončić is one of the best players in the , and now he's got the signature shoes to match his stature. The Dallas Mavericks guard, who's often compared to Larry Bird, has revealed the Luka 1, his first original silhouette with .
A low-top silhouette designed for Dončić's beguiling game, the Luka 1 features two major technical innovations: a support system that Jordan Brand has dubbed IsoPlate and a new Formula 23 foam cushioning setup. The Iso Plate – which Jordan Brand describes as an evolution of the Flight Plate found in the Air Jordan 28 and the Eclipse Plate debuted in the – wraps the wearer's lateral forefoot to provide stability through their stride. Lockdown is also aided by Flightwire cables that can be seen on the lateral half of the upper.
Meanwhile, the Formula 23 cushioning setup is an injected foam that offers responsiveness during quick pivots or changes of direction, movements essential to Dončić's arsenal of Euro-steps, crossovers and step-backs. , Inc. have also stated that it's one of their most sustainable foams to date, though exactly how it's made and what it's made of have is still a mystery.
