Creative seasonal sneaker ad campaigns can be entertaining, but the feeling is fleeting, and brands are just hoping your love lasts long enough to buy a pair of their shoes. So it's dope to see companies that opt to spend their marketing money on something concrete, something that keeps on giving. Vans definitely did that, they dropped a stack of paper on a mega stack of concrete, constructing an awe-inspiring compound in London last year. Similar in philosophy to the Brooklyn House of Vans outpost, but with a shot in the arm of steroids and swag juice, the stunning complex was forged in a labyrinth of tunnels around Waterloo Station. There's a cinema, concert hall, cafe and bar as well as a bunch of skate rooms with ramps, street scenes and a massive bowl. It opened to the public mid-2014 and has since played host to many bands, including Julian Casablancas & The Voidz and Foo Fighters, as well as many art exhibitions and film screenings. We haven't been there personally, but it looks brilliant and by all reports, it is. We've just discovered this bunch of photos of the venue and thought you might be interested in having a peep too. Hit up the House of Vans FB page to get the goss on what's coming up there. Pics via Arch Daily.
