Lonzo Ball Says his Big Baller Brand ZO2s 'Would Just Rip' During Games
Big Baller Brand x Lonzo Ball really is the gift that keeps on giving. Recently appearing on the LightHearted Podcast, the ex-Laker shared his experiences rocking the unreleased ZO2 during the 2017 Summer League, revealing he had to wear multiple pairs of the $495 sneaker each game because they kept ripping.
‘No one knows the real story about them shoes though,’ said Ball. ‘Them ZO2s I was playing in, they was not ready. No one knows this, but [Darren Moore, Ball’s manager] had a backpack, and he had an extra like four pairs of shoes in there because I had to switch them every quarter, because they would just rip.’
Got to hand it to Zo, though – he gamed those BBBs just to please his old man.
‘I had to debut them. We went so far with it, it was like, cool, I can get a quarter in, but that’s it. And it’s crazy, because right when I switched my shoes, all of a sudden, magically I got good again.’

It’ll be interesting to see which brand Lonzo ends up gaming in this upcoming season with the Pelicans. Hopefully, for his sake, he won’t need to pack four pairs a game.
