There’s been a lot of throwback sneaker news lately, and the latest potential retro is the Nike LeBron 9 Low ‘Liverpool’, which originally released in 2012. ‘What’s the connection?’ you may ask – LeBron James is a shareholder with the historic football club.
There were samples of this red and teal basketball shoe bearing LFC’s liver bird crest back in the day, but the retail version featured LBJ’s crown logos, likely because of the club’s Warrior Sports (New Balance subsidiary brand) kit sponsorship at the time. However, as Nike now sponsor the team, this retro could bear the rightful LFC crest.
Of course, this is still in the rumour stage, so stay tuned for more concrete facts down the line.
