Despite boasting the most prodigious sneaker catalogue in the NBA, LeBron James continues to favour the Nike LeBron 13 Ambassador in recent seasons, the low-profile silhouette perhaps more suited to his game at 37 years of age. Shirking his more contemporary, bulkier high-top signature iterations, it looks like team Swoosh received the memo, the latest Nike LeBron 20 adopting an aesthetic similar to the legendary Nike Kobe 4 and Kobe 5.

Teased during a workout session this week, the silhouette again adopts LeBron’s much-loved knit construction, with the extended Swoosh somewhat reminiscent of AMBUSH’s recent Nike Dunk High collaboration. The dual Swooshes are also very much on point with the current zeitgeist, with Chitose Abe’s sacai imprint laying down the blueprint for all kinds of Swoosh-manipulation in the 2020s.

In terms of the L.A. Lakers, the free agency period remains a mystery, with rumours circulating that LeBron James and Kyrie Irving may reunite. Another signature athlete for Nike, Kyrie Irving’s contract with the Swoosh now seems tenuous after the mercurial Brooklyn Net flamed one of his recent models.

No current release details for the Nike LeBron 20 have yet surfaced, but keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.

In the meantime, make sure to check out recent images of a hardwood classic: the Air Jordan 3 ‘Fire Red’.
