LeBron James Rocks the Looney Nike LeBron 19 'Tune Squad' at the Lakers' Media Day Event
The 2021-22 NBA season's start is right around the corner, and LeBron James is ready to chase his fifth NBA Championship – so ready, in fact, that he was spotted wearing the 'Tune Squad' Nike LeBron 19 during the Los Angeles Lakers' recent media day.
Originally set to release in July to accompany King James' star turn in Space Jam: A New Legacy, the LeBron 19 'Tune Squad' is looney in colour and tuned in performance. Foregoing the lower-cut build of the LeBron 18 in favour of a high-top cut that's much closer to the LeBron 17, the 'Tune Squad' features a Tweety Bird-yellow fused mesh upper and orange Flywire. More orange is present on the midfoot overlay, trim and laces, while a far-out heel detail nods directly to the entire Space Jam palette. Down below, blue midsoles sit atop a two-piece cushioning unit that appears to use both Max Air and Zoom Air technology. ,
LeBron has been casually teasing LeBron 19 colourways as the season draws closer. The 'Tune Squad' announcement in July was the model's reveal, but 'Bron has also shown off a murdered-out all-black makeup plus a classic "Bred" scheme. Official images of a LeBron 19 'Space Jam' recently made the rounds as well.
A firm release date has yet to be announced, but you can expect to see LeBron rocking the 'Tune Squad' on the NBA court as he, Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis lead the Lakers in the hunt of their second NBA Championship in three years.
