Kyrie Irving Laces the Nike Kyrie 8 On-Court
Kyrie Irving dove head-first into hot water when he called his own sneakers ‘trash’ last month, the mercurial sharp-shooter referring to his very own Nike Kyrie 8. However, it didn’t take long for Irving to wind back his comments on the signature sneaker, taking to his social media shortly after to apologise for his virulent take.
‘When you’re building something great, there sometimes comes a point when you need to recalibrate and refocus to ensure everyone is aligned. This is where the KAI11 brand and Nike are. It was unfair to put the blame on Nike or any one person. With that being said, we are diligently working, restructuring, and reimagining things together to make sure we get it right,’ Irving explained in his statement.
Irving was spotted wearing his brand new creps on the court for an off-season workout this week despite the commotion, the eighth signature model ostensibly taking cues from the Kyrie 6 – which in turn took inspiration from the legendary Air Yeezy 2.
There is currently no information regarding a release date, but make sure to keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.
