Kobe Bryant Takes Out Historic Academy Award Win for 'Dear Basketball'
When it comes to debating the greatest basketball superstar of all time, now has a shiny new award to hold above the rest: an Oscar. Dear Basketball, the heartwarming animation based on Bryant's 2015 retirement letter, has taken out Best Animated Short Film at the 90th Academy Awards. The film was created together with veteran animator Glen Keane and featured a soundtrack by industry great John Williams.
The historic win makes Bryant the first NBA player ever to win an Academy Award – an honour sure to make former Laker teammate Shaquille O'Neal jealous!
