The wacky masterminds at KidSuper have reunited with the 3D-printing wizards at Zellerfeld for a new piece of concept footwear dubbed 'Heal Your Sole, Heel Your Sole.' A follow-up to the two's Play-Doh-inspired mule from 2021, this heeled design was inspired by vintage men's platform shoes – but its inspiration is the only thing about it that's not ultra-futuristic!

Since the 'Heal Your Sole, Heel Your Sole' shoe was made by a 3D printer, it's a mono-material design that's 100 per cent free of stitching and glueing and is fully recyclable. It's also extremely technically advanced: though it's made of a single material, it features multiple textures, material densities and details – most notably, the faces present on the forefoot and heel that nod to KidSuper's love of classic portraiture, and a complex, fully functional heel with advanced structural support. A striking blue colour scheme and KidSuper branding round off the look.

'3D printing has allowed me to fully think outside the box. When designing these shoes I kept having to tell myself that anything is possible, there are no restrictions,' said founder Colm Dillane. 'This thought process has never been possible in the shoe industry until now.'

KidSuper and Zellerfeld's groundbreaking 3D-printed design is still in its concept phase, so at the time of writing, there's no official release information. However, Zellerfeld has worked with other street culture stalwarts like Heron Preston and AMBUSH in the past, both of whom created pairs that saw a retail release, so these KidSuper kicks should touch down in the near future.
