KICKZ Auctioning a Kobe-Themed Piaggio Vespa for Mamba Week
German retailer KICKZ honour the late and his daughter Gianna with a special one-of-one Piaggio Vespa auction. The custom-designed ‘Mamba Edition’ scooter commemorates , NBA career, as well as his connection to Italy.
Growing up in North Italy, not far away from Piaggio's headquarters, Kobe was always an avid fan of the Italian culture and way of life. With that in mind, KICKZ created the perfect Mamba-inspired ride, taking to the iconic Vespa model to celebrate Mamba Week.
The Vespa features hand-painted details in Lakers colours, alongside a custom faux snakeskin seat, and chrome-plated lettering. Kobe’s jersey numbers have been placed on the left and right flanks, with various nods to his career and life featuring throughout the paint job.
In partnership with WNBA athlete Marie Gülich (L.A. Sparks), KICKZ will donate 100 per cent of all proceeds from the auction towards helping young girls achieve their basketball dreams. The funds will go to the all-female Basketball Center of Opladen, where Marie spent most of her teenage years playing.
