Update October 21, 2022: The Jordan Zion 2 ‘Black Cement’ has landed on retail shelves! It’s available right now from Nike.

Duke and New Orleans Pelicans prodigy Zion Williamson may not have hit the hardwood in quite some time, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see fresh colourways of his Sophomore signature shoe. Dubbed the Jordan Zion 2, the silhouette was first officially announced in June, with the inaugural ‘Voodoo’ colourway landing on June 22 (a colourway Zion himself loved so much we also saw an Air Jordan 1 iteration!).

The latest Jordan Zion 2 colourway pays homage to a legend of the Jumpman canon, with the ‘Black Cement’ alluding to Michael Jordan’s legendary Air Jordan 4 of the same name. Manufactured in a black nubuck suede upper matched with speckled patterns on the midsoles, the model also comes with a vintage aesthetic driven by the off-white outsoles.

In terms of technology, the most salient aspect of Zion’s latest is undoubtedly the new decouple Strobel, a piece placed directly under the insole and separates it from the midsole.

Currently, there are no official release details for the Jordan Zion 2 ‘Black Cement’, but keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.
