Jordan Brand have long displayed an affinity for fusing classic Air Jordans together to create new lifestyle models – a continuous design ethos that's seen varying degrees of success over the years. Models like the Dub Zero, Spiz'ike and 6 Rings have been largely accepted (if not outright embraced) by sneaker lovers, while others like the Mars 270, True Flight and Sixty Plus have proved much more divisive. Now, there's a new entrant into the hybrid canon: the Jordan Two Trey, a model that draws its name from Michael Jordan's jersey number and borrows pieces from the seven shoes he wore while winning his six NBA Championships.
The first colourway of the Two Trey to appear is a mixture of white mesh/synthetic and rich black patent leather, a clear callout to the Air Jordan 11 'Concord' that adds some purple details of its own. The Air Jordan 6 is acknowledged on the quarter panels, while the Air Jordan 7 provides inspiration for the collar. Tongues combine an Air Jordan 13-style shape with an Air Jordan 8-esque circular badge, while the overall shape of the toe is all Air Jordan 12. The lower half is just as varied as the upper, taking cues in shape and tone from the Air Jordan 11 and Air Jordan 12, while callouts to the Air Jordan 7 and Air Jordan 14 also get in on the mix via the outsole.
At the time of writing, the Jordan Two Trey has yet to receive a release date or a retail price. The pair pictured above is grade school-sized, but adult-sized pairs may be produced as well. Keep it locked right here for more information as it's made available.
