Jordan Brand Officially Introduces the Jordan Luka 2
Luka Dončić has taken the NBA world by storm since entering the league in 2018. Now entering his sixth year, the MVP candidate is getting a sequel to his signature sneaker, the , which builds upon the Luka 1 and continues to innovate without sacrificing style on-court.
‘I still can’t believe I have my own signature shoe with , and now we’re already on the Luka 2,’ Dončić states. ‘The technology keeps getting better, and I hope people feel the same special connection with this one that I have.’
The Luka 2 takes the baton from the Luka 1 and is designed for Luka’s lateral movements and deceleration. Full-length Formula23 is used for cushioning alongside the IsoPlate to bring comfort and balance to the sneaker. A multidirectional traction pattern featuring more linear lines on the heel with radial lines on the forefoot is built to keep up with moves such as Luka’s signature stepback. The upper is made from a mix of mesh and raw materials, with the design looking similar to the Jumpman Pro 2. Luka’s logo is seen on the tongue with pulltabs featured on the tongue as well.
The Jordan Luka 2 will launch this summer with a list of the upcoming colourways and release dates below.
Jordan Luka 2 ‘Quai 54’
Quai 54 is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2023 and continues to be the world’s biggest streetball tournament which takes place in Paris every summer. The colourway is inspired by Pan-Africanism and features a pattern featuring ‘XX’ to commemorate the tournament’s 20th anniversary. The Jordan Luka 2 ‘Quai 54’ is set to drop on June 23, 2023, exclusively in Europe with a global launch date to follow on July 8, 2023.
Jordan Luka 2 ‘Luk.AI’
The futuristic colourway is seen in black, purple, and glow-in-the-dark accenting which is embracing what’s next with technology. The ‘Luk.AI’ colourway is dropping on July 5, 2023, for a select few with early access with a wider launch following on July 11.
Jordan Luka 2 ‘Nebula’
The ‘Nebula’ colourway is a familiar one for Luka as it takes from the Air Jordan 35 Low ‘Cosmic Deception’, one of Luka’s favourite PEs. The tie-dye upper looks like a nebula in space blending pink, purple, grey, orange, and mint hues together. The Jordan Luka 2 ‘Nebula’ is set to drop on July 27.
Jordan Luka 2 ‘Matador’
‘The/El Matador’ is a nickname dubbed for Luka during his time at Real Madrid which inspired PEs such as the Air Jordan 36 which Luka donned on court. Teal makes up the mesh and leather upper with metallic gold accenting and speckles throughout. The Jordan Luka 2 ‘Matador’ is set to drop on August 3.
Jordan Luka 2 ‘Lake Bled’
Lake Bled is located in Luka’s home country of Slovenia and is located in one of the most sustainable places in the world. The serene lake with surrounding mountains inspires this colourway which is also made from sustainable materials. The Jordan Luka 2 ‘Lake Bled’ drops on September 14.
