Jordan Brand women’s have announced a new VP and GM to head up the company: Tonia Jones.

Jones has been a long-time Nike employee, beginning her tenure at the company in 1989 as an account executive before moving on to category sales director roles and more. She transitioned over to Jordan Brand in 2014, eventually returning to Nike and becoming the head of SNKRS and NBHD marketplace. This year marks Jones’ 33rd with Team Swoosh.

It’s an epic time to begin the role, with reports confirming that Jordan Brand women’s has been experiencing major growth as of late, nearly tripling in Q4 of 2021.

In a statement, Jordan Brand president Craig Williams said, ‘This is an awesome responsibility for Tonia to continue leading our women’s business. This role is such a critical piece of achieving balanced growth across the brand. It requires someone who has a strong respect for our legacy and passion to create our future. We’re excited about Tonia returning to the Jordan team.’

Jones has also issued a statement on the appointment. Jones said, ‘I’m thrilled about the opportunity to continue defining equity for women within sneaker culture. Plus, it’s a special treat to be a part of the Jordan family again. I’m honored to work with this talented team at Jordan Brand and keep our strong momentum going.’
