USMNT Coach Gregg Berhalter Rocks Custom Jordan 1s at World Cup
USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter laced up some truly special Jordan 1s for USA’s match against Iran at the 2022 World Cup.
The unique pair was created by The Shoe Surgeon, who draped the Jordan 1 in a patriotic red-white-and-blue colour scheme. The shoe’s most interesting detail is a blue lace shroud – common on some football boots – but in this case, it seems to be a nod to the Nike Tiempo, according to The Shoe Surgeon’s Instagram. Quilting on the toe of the Jordan 1 is yet another nod to football boots (or soccer cleats, for the Americans in our audience).
In addition to these custom Jordan 1s, The Shoe Surgeon seems to have also kitted the whole US team with custom Birkenstock Bostons, again with an American flag-inspired colourway and the number of each player adorning the shoe’s strap closure.
In a previous match against Wales, Berhalter was rocking the recent A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 4. And since the USA has an upcoming match against the Netherlands, we have to wonder if coach has some more surprises up his sleeve. We’ll be tuning in on December 3 to find out.
