Jokers Of The Scene - Melbs Show

Jokers Of The Scene Melbs Show 1

Jokers of the Scene have crafted a strain of dark and eclectic dance music that has won acclaim all over the world. Their tracks can be heard banging into the early hours from the big rooms in Ibiza to sweaty little basement parties the world over. Their list of remix credits reads like a who’s who of dance music today - Blaqstarr, Muscles, Bonde Do Role, Kid Cudi and Bagraiders are among the many who have had the JOTS treatment. Alongside their own productions, their re-workings of certain tracks have made them in-demand worldwide as one of the best production outfits to emerge in the last few years.

Consisting of Canadians DJ Booth and Chameleonic, Jokers got their start running the hugely successful night Disorganised in Ottawa which hosted early appearances of acts like MSTRKRFT, CSS Crystal Castles and Diplo. From there they headed into production drawing on their own experiences and passion of early dance music. Signed to A-Trak’s trend setting label Fool’s Gold, their 12” Y’all Know the Name blew up the clubs around the globe with its growling bassline and epic buildups – hallmarks of the Jokers’ sound.

They’ve been touring extensively, making fans and destroying dance floors wherever they go – this year’s Lollapalooza and Coachella festivals bore the brunt of their live show with great reaction. Their many mixtapes are a testament to their sound - hard, fun dance music on the grandest of scales. Jokers of the Scene play Miss Libertine on October 10th, presented by Opulent.
