After parting ways with Jordan Brand at the start of 2020, Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler has signed a new multi-year deal with Li-Ning, which will see him become the brand’s marquee endorsee.

The finer details of the deal are currently unknown, but ‘Jimmy Buckets’ is expected to receive his own signature sneaker line as part of the deal.

To date, the Chinese sporting giant’s most notable move on the basketball front was signing to a lifetime contract back in 2018. In a huge coup for the brand, the signing of Butler – a five-time NBA All-Star – adds some much needed star power to their current NBA player roster. The 31-year-old may be considered a veteran, but still managed to put together arguably his most memorable season to date in 2019/20, leading the Heat to an unlikely Finals run. To many pundits, his stock is at an all-time high.

Formerly a Jordan Brand athlete, Butler’s highlights with the Jumpman include an Air Jordan 6 PE colourway in 2018, and gaming a $15,000 pair of Eminem x Air Jordan 4s that same season. Since splitting with the brand, he’s continued to game Air Jordan 31s and a few older models. However, there’s now no doubt as to what he’ll have on his feet come the new season.
