Jason Markk Presents: Sneaker Freaker November 2016 Swap Meet Recap
The final of 2016 is done and dusted! Sneakerheads from far and wide descended upon the Globe Warehouse in Port Melbourne with smoking hot heat – both in hand and on foot. Jason Markk came on board once again, with their talented detailing team at the ready to freshen up footwear all day long. Boost midsoles were scrubbed back to crispy white, Swooshes were polished lustrously clean and some heavily-worn kicks were miraculously restored to VVVNDS condition – turning a few dirt-cheap beater purchases into seriously mega bargains by the time the crew had worked their magic!

For this meet, we linked up with LA streetwear label X-LARGE for a surprise collaboration. Available only on the day, the Sneaker Freaker x X-LARGE event tee is a seriously limited piece of apparel featuring an exclusive collaborative camo print. Every tee was screen-printed by hand at the event with a woodland-themed colour palette. With tees being thrown out to the crowd at the random, you needed luck on your side to land this rare colab.

The Sneaker Freaker Swap Meet never fails to bring out a diverse range of product and this year was no exception. Heavily hyped colabs and just about anything with Three Stripes and Boost were promptly snapped up soon as the event kicked off. thirst was particularly insatiable with one notable pair changing hands multiple times over the course of the day, having almost doubled in price in the process! of both the and variety were on offer, sharing stall space with OG ‘Bred’ s, ‘Kid Robot’ s and some seriously coveted collaborations – all putting smiles on faces an major dents in wallets! However, it’s not all about the big-ticket items and there was plenty of eclectic product on offer for buyers on a budget. One Sneaker Freaker staffer was especially stoked with his $20 purchase of a pair of vintage Nike Takao Mids in pristine condition.
The November 2016 Sneaker Freaker Swap Meet was a huge success for both buyers and sellers alike. This might be our last meet of the year, but we’re already making plans for 2017. A big shout out to the Jason Markk crew for helping put on the event, to our friends at Globe for providing the space, to X-LARGE for the killer tees and to everyone who attended for making it one hell of a day!
