Jason Markk Presents: Sneaker Freaker November 2016 Swap Meet On Feet Recap
We've already given you a rundown on what went on above the tables at the November 2016 Sneaker Freaker Swap Meet, but now it's time to get down to business and peruse the glorious on-foot shots from the day!
As the ultimate occasion to stunt Down Under, the event always manages to draw out some serious heat on feet. With eyes fixed to the ground, there were coveted colabs both old and new that showed out in droves. While the selection of Yeezys and modern colabs were impressive, this time we are going to have to give it to the older heads that dusted off the likes of the Kid Robot x Nike Air Max 1s, Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Highs and the crème de la crème of mid 2000s New Balance 1500 colabs.
More than any prior event, creativity was king this time around. There were mismatched pairs, custom paint jobs, patriotically Australian NIKEiD creations, luxurious original footwear from BespokeIND and even a vachetta leather pair of Air Force 1s from NikeLab Bespoke iD spotted on foot. Shouts to all the SF heads that laced up in one of our many colabs for the event and especially to those that broke out their prized vintage sneakers – including a pair of 2004 Nike Air Huarache Bursts that lived up to their name!
Big thanks to Jason Markk for keeping kicks crispy on the day, to Globe for allowing the Sneaker Freaker family to use their space once again and to X-LARGE for collaborating with us on a killer event tee.
