Jae Tips x Saucony Grid Shadow 2 'What's the Occasion' Gets a Wider Release

Update December 1, 2023: Following on from a launch on Jae Tips's own site on Black Friday, it's now been confirmed that the colab will be hitting retailers very soon. The pairs will drop at Saucony on December 8 for the US, Canada and APAC regions, while an EMEA release will follow on December 15.

Update November 22, 2023: After dropping at ComplexCon last week, the Jae Tips x Saucony Grid Shadow 2 'What's the Occasion' is getting a wider launch. Mark your calendars for November 24, 2023, as the collaborative sneaker is set to drop on ShopJaeTips.com at 1 PM Eastern. There's no word yet though on the third colourway, as this one wasn't dropped at ComplexCon. Keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for any updates.

Update November 17, 2023: We have a confirmation and a release date! Sort of... Jae Tips has posted a lifestyle shot taken by @flicksnkicks declaring his Saucony Grid Shadow 2 will be launching at ComplexCon, which goes down at Long Beach Convention Center in California November 18-19. He had previously also revealed the third colourway that was initially missing, with the 'Wear to a Date' pair featuring a smooth blue and green colourway that's hit with a light pink. Other than this initial kick-off, there's presently no other information about a broader release, but stay locked for more updates.

Bronx-based creative Jae Tips first entered the world of sneaker colabs just last year with his Saucony Grid Azura 2000. The pair are gearing up for another round, as Jae leaks two new colourways on his Instagram, both as colourful and eclectic as the first.

The first one takes on a deep brown paired with peach, raspberry red, green, tan, white and light blue. The result is a chaotic but well-balanced colourway with strategic placements of each shade. The base of the upper is a white mesh, and the brown and peach overlays frame the upper with the red and green accenting the centre of the design and midsole. It’s topped off with creamy laces, a tan midsole and 'Forever' embroidered in a light blue on a peach overlay.

The second one has a palette in various hues of pink and purple, with the same blue embroidered on the 'Forever'. The biggest pop of colour comes in the form of a fluro yellow midsole and grey suede also accents the upper, creating the balance required for such an out-there midsole.

There appears to be a third colourway yet to be leaked, as Jae Tips shared a picture of three sole inserts that read: ‘Wear to Dinner’, ‘Wear to a Date’, and ‘Wear to the Party’. An educated guess would deduce the missing sneaker is the Date portion of the series.

The Jae Tips x Saucony Grid Shadow 2 collaboration doesn’t have official details but is expected to drop in the next few months. Stay locked to SF for updates.
