Official Pics: The sacai x Nike VaporWaffle ‘Dark Iris’
Ever since 2019, when the seemed to make everyone’s heart skip a beat, the x link-up has had the sneakersphere infatuated with the doubled-up look that’s now become synonymous with their collaborative canon. Last year, the duo debuted a brand-spanking-new silhouette dubbed the . Hitting shelves in two low-key combos, it shook up the sneaker space. Ever since, we’ve been clinging to the constant influx of leaks hinting at new colourways, so it’s exciting to see that the ‘Dark Iris’ pair has just been confirmed with official imagery.
Coming in hot with the new construction, we’ve got a synthetic base that sets the mood and provides a different look to the original see-through mesh. As can be expected from a sacai colab, a double Swoosh, dual tongue, behemoth of a sole, and double lace action provide the eye-catching details. The colourway hasn’t changed since the leaked imagery we received last week. Up top, a purple hue dubbed ‘Dark Iris’ lays the groundwork, while ‘Campfire Orange’ heats up the Swoosh and heel tab, and a black outsole adds the final touch.
Although the official images are out, which means a release shouldn’t be too far away, exact drop details haven’t surfaced yet. According to rumours, we should be receiving these bad boys alongside a slew of other colourways over the coming months. We’ll keep you updated on when exactly that will be.
