Israel Adesanya Becomes First MMA Fighter to Sign with PUMA
Nigerian-born New Zealand–based MMA star Israel Adesanya has signed a multi-year deal with PUMA, making him the first fighter to align with the German sportswear giant.
The news follows PUMA’s recent signing of footballer phenom Neymar, further signifying the brand’s intention to bolster their bourgeoning endorsee roster.
Adesanya, AKA ‘The Last Stylebender’, is the current UFC Middleweight Champion, and will now be the face of PUMA’s Oceania division, promoting footwear and apparel. No signature sneakers have been announced, but don’t be surprised if we see collaborative projects in the future.
The 31-year-old is currently preparing to defend his title against Brazilian Paulo Costa on September 27.
