Is this Skepta’s Next Nike Air Max Collaboration?
World-renowned British rapper has been a longtime collaborator – so far he has remixed four pairs of and . Way back in 2019, before his collaboration dropped, started circulating about another sneaker venture between the duo. According to that talk, the grime superstar was also meant to be releasing a collaborative ! Well, we’ve now received some imagery of the potential pair from Air Max fiend and ‘Airducator’ airmaxarchives.
According to the rumour, the Skepta x Nike Air Max Tailwind 5 AKA SK Air 5 was meant to hit shelves in 2020, however due to the year it was, the release was delayed. Readying it up for a 2021 release, we’re pumped to have these pics pop up. Taking a look at the iteration, it looks like a fusion between the OG Air Max Tailwind 5 and the Tailwind 5 Plus. Using orange as the base, Skepta has laid down black webbing that matches the midsole, while a chromed out section towards the rear resembles the heel of the Air Max Tailwind 5. Finishing off the colab is the rapper’s signature SK Air on the iridescent reflective tongue and the insole.
There is no official word at all about this collaboration happening just yet, but the rumour mill heavily suggests that it will release in 2021. As usual, we’ll keep you updated if and when more information surfaces.
