Sneaker auctions are running red-hot right now, as Heritage Auctions are the latest entity to list some seriously rare pairs in their upcoming ‘Sneakers Signature’ collection. The 100-plus-pair selection mostly features some of Nike’s very best, but there are about 20 exemplars from other brands.

The cream of the Nike crop is undoubtedly a prototype pair of the Air Jordan 1 ‘Chicago’ from 1985 that includes a letter written and signed by its designer, Peter Moore. HA’s opening bid on this truly ‘lost and found’ item is $200,000 – those with shallower pockets can instead try for a pair of deadstock retail OGs that start at $7000.

Other Swoosh-adorned notables include F&F pairs of the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1, Kobe Bryant bespoke Air Force 1 Mids in Lakers colours and the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Paris’. On the SB Dunk front, there’s also a sample pair of the mythical ‘Freddy Krueger’, which was infamously scrapped due to licensing issues.

Proxy bidding on the lots is open right now, with a live auction going down on December 13 at HA’s Dallas, Texas, location.
