Earlier this year, Helen Kirkum was chosen to receive support from ASICS' Crafts for Minds program, which saw Kirkum's studio rework 30 pairs of GEL-1130s in support of Right to Play. Now ASICS and Kirkum are continuing their partnership, this time celebrating Footpatrol's 20th anniversary.

For this endeavour, Kirkum has created 20 bespoke and exclusive pairs, each being a one-of-one design, as with all HELEN KIRKUM creations. Giving each shoe its own look, offcuts from a selection of ASICS silhouettes have been utilised, which have then been constructed atop key models from the brand, including the GEL-Lyte III, GEL-NANDI OG, GEL-PRELEUS, GEL-Kayano 14 and the GEL-Kayano 5 OG. Extra detail is given by a collaged ASICS logo.

On the collaboration, Kirkum said: 'We love doing these projects, it gives us a chance to be creative, wild with design and not conform to the norm, things that we couldn't create in factory-made production. All the scraps that comprise the sneakers are mixed together to create a vibrant collage aesthetic - for the theme for the project, we wanted to reimagine a traditional British garage sale. When I was thinking about pieces I had to use and the off cuts to utilise, as well as these odd mismatched silhouettes we collected, it reminded me of a garage sale where everything's muddled up and you can find some amazing gems among that.'
