Glow-In-The-Dark, Maybe? The Yeezy Quantum ‘Frozen Blue’
The Yeezy Quantum remains one of the most elusive models from the seemingly expansive empire of ‘Ye’s arrangement with adidas. Unlike the Yeezy BOOST 350 V2 which is available in dozens of variants, the Quantum basketball–lifestyle model has kept to a tighter release schedule. Some might say, a little too tight.
Thankfully, serial leakers, the Yeezy Mafia, suggest a new colourway is coming, known as the ‘Frozen Blue’. While it doesn’t look like there is any connection to the 2013 Disney animation, the one similarity shared is the use of icy blue. Here, it covers the felt-like overlays on the uppers, offering tonal and textural difference to the Primeknit underlays. Meanwhile, the rest of the upper sticks to the same formula as previous Quantum releases, opting for shades of grey and a big black heel panel and tongue.
According to this mock up, it’s suggested there could be glow-in-the-dark detailing on the uppers. Quantums so far have featured reflective bits, so this is an interesting switch. Either way, it doesn’t look like the BOOST midsole and iced outsole combo is changing, which is a good thing.
Of course, this mockup could vary wildly from the final product. The ‘Barium’ was believed to be mossy green, but it ended up being dark grey. So you’ll just have to wait and see for the official confirmation.
