First Look: The Nike Air Max 95 ‘Japan’ Rumoured for 2021
The 25th anniversary of the Air Max 95 definitely deserved more attention this year, but Nike still managed to released a few Japan exclusives to keep the celebration interesting. We saw colourways such as the ‘Spring Flower’, ‘Cherry Blossom’ and ‘Mt Fuji’, and now it looks like another regional release is on the way for 2021: the aptly named ‘Japan’ Air Max 95.
The history of the Nike Air Max 95 in Japan is well-documented, and that tradition is honoured on the layered upper and TPU overlays, which are decorated with a collage of throwback advertising. The print continues all the way to tongues, while black leather is used on the toe cap for a bold contrast. More black hits on the liner and rubber outsole, as an orange speckled midsole comes highlighted with ‘Neon Orange’ and ‘Volt Air’ units. Last but not least, the finishing accents include 3M reflective white ribbon eyelets, white laces, and an orange mini Swoosh on the lateral ankle.
The Nike Air Max 95 ‘Japan’ is rumoured for release in early 2021 at select retailers and Nike in Japan. In the meantime, be sure to check out our favourite Japan-exclusive sneakers of all time.
