First Look: The Air Jordan 6 'Singles Day'
have always looked to to inspire new colourways, and this recently leaked is one of most memorable yet. A nod to the local unofficial holiday known as ‘Singles Day’, which celebrates those without significant others, this new colourway will definitely pull on your heartstrings.
Rumoured to be a women’s release, the ‘Singles Day’ Air Jordan 6 makes use of black as its base tone. Dark suede overlays cover the upper, with a distinctive floral graphic pattern appearing underneath. The iridescent look of the prints works to offset the black, with the decorative details also appearing the midsole. Adding to the theme, there’s a red ornament on the lacing, with a gold heart-shaped lace lock just below it. A black outsole hits the bottom, balancing out all the niceties up top.
Regarded as the largest offline and online shopping day in the world, Singles Day takes place every year on November 11. The date was chosen as the number ‘1’ resembles a ‘bare stick’, which is Chinese slang for a lonely man with no partner. Ironically, the date has also become a day to celebrate couples.
There’s no official release date for the Air Jordan 6 WMNS ‘Singles Day’ just yet. However, rumours suggest a release on November 25, as opposed to November 11. We’ll keep an eye out for updates.
