First Look: A Black and Navy Fragment x Nike Dunk High

Fragment x Nike Dunk High

Following the homage to the  Fragment Design x Nike  Dunk High ‘Beijing’ earlier this year Hiroshi Fujiwara has taken to IG to tease another collaborative Dunk High for 2021. Adopting similar colour-blocking and design details to that ‘Beijing’ retro, this version opts for navy and black instead of the purple and black seen on his famous relative.

Posted with a simple ‘black & navy 2021’ caption on Instagram, the remaining details – including release timeframe – are up for debate, but that will do very little to water down the anticipation levels. It’s been a busy year for Fragment so far, with the most recent attention landing on the three-way collaboration with Travis Scott and Jordan Brand for both an Air Jordan 1 High and an Air Jordan 1 Low. And there’s also the duo of LDWaffles created alongside Nike and sacai.

One of the world’s most prolific collaborators, Hiroshi Fujiwara has well and truly earned the title of being the ‘Godfather of Streetwear’. His creative output via Fragment Design has branded the entire cultural spectrum – from Starbucks coffee to Maserati sports cars – with the signature twin lightning bolt marque. You can check out his all-time greatest sneaker collaborations here.

As mentioned above, further info on this colourway is scarce. Let’s hope it gets a public release and is not just a Friends and Family design. We’ll keep you posted as the story develops.
