FEIT was founded back in 2004 by brothers Tull and Josh Price to champion exemplary shoe designs that combine old-world craft and the finest rustic natural materials. And now the brothers Price are proud to announce their latest outpost that’s putting up the FEIT against the production line.
FEIT have set up a new brick-and-mortar store in Melbourne, Australia, expanding their retail network that includes locations in Sydney and New York, USA. Officially known as FEIT FOR MELBOURNE Installation Four: Lifecycle, this name may sound enigmatic, but its concept becomes clear. Having launched the MY FEIT repair and refurbishment program in 2019, the FEIT Melbourne store will serve as a one-stop shop to drop off tired pairs for services ranging from a simple clean to a full-blown resole. Patrons can also browse, try and buy the latest small-batch high quality creations, which have expanded into uber premium essentials including small leather goods, socks, and plain t-shirts.
The brand’s preference for natural materials and classic techniques is reflected in the new store’s design, which was executed by the Jason Gibney Design Workshop. There’s a lot of Baltic birch plywood, exposed raw edges, and a distinct lack of uniformity.
Josh Price said of the new store, ‘I have always loved Melbourne. The climate and culture are similar to our New York stores, while complementary to our Sydney base. We have seen a continuous, increased demand through e-commerce in Melbourne over the past few years. Beyond product, with our pivot towards service, we aim to provide care and repair to our growing customer base here.’
