These custom Air Jordan 6s that were created for Batman Returns may just be the gold crown of silver screen sneakers. Worn by Michael Keaton's titular character in the 1992 Tim Burton-directed comicbook romp, they comfortably sit on the list of the rarest Jordans ever created.

These superhero sneakerboots feature a blacked-out AJ6 that redefines the meaning of 'high-top'. Sitting at shin height, they have armoured gaiters grafted to the front for extra protection as the Caped Crusader dunks on the seedy underbelly of Gotham City.

Of course, as these are now almost 30 years old, the OG durabuck upper, plastic hardware, and Air soles have long desiccated and cracked. The Michael Keaton signature is still mostly intact, though!

These Jordans belong to the James Sawyer, admin of 1989Batman, a fan blog devoted to the Tim Burton era of Batman films. The eponymous 1989 movie featured custom Air Trainer 3s for Batman – but the sequel's 6s are much cooler!

Robert Pattinson's gonna have to up his kick game for The Batman reboot in 2021...
