The eBay Museum of Authentics Arrives in Melbourne This Week!
Melbourne sneakerheads, get ready for the eBay Museum of Authentics! This showcase of rare, vintage and collectible kicks is just days away now, so don’t forget to register your attendance below. ICYMI, the event gathers local collectors and parades their most coveted pairs in a gallery setting at Neon Parc.
Among the eclectic bunch of collectors – some of whom have been chasing their Grails since before eBay’s launch in the mid 1990s – is Michael Fan, one of the foremost purveyors of original and game-worn Air Jordans. Special guest Cesar Idrobo, sample-maker over at Yeezy, has also graced the space with a one-of-one eBay sneaker prototype! Also on show is your very own Sneaker Freaker, with a selection of all-time greatest collaborations from the archive, some of which have never been seen before!
The eBay Department of Authentication will have their own stall and will share how their multi-sensory process ensures every pair that passes through the online marketplace clears their stringent legit checks.
It's not a museum without a gift shop, so eBay have partnered with Perks And Mini to produce a t-shirt that will be available in limited numbers. Also up for grabs is a custom candle with an 'Authentique' scent that's said to capture the aroma of a box-fresh pair! 15 PAM shirts and 50 candles will be given away each day to the first people through the doors, so it's worth getting up and in early.
The eBay Museum of Authentics kicks off April 29 and runs until May 1, between 10AM and 5PM. The event is free but you do need to register. See you there!
