The eBay Museum of Authentics is Coming to Melbourne

eBay Museum of Authentics Event Melbourne

The city of Melbourne, Australia plays host to the eBay Museum of Authentics this April, where local sneaker collectors will be showcasing rare pairs in a gallery-style exhibition for three days only. Underpinning this event is eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee, whereby the marketplace’s expert authenticators will be on show to explain how it works.

Taking over Neon Parc in the suburb of Brunswick, the museum will treat dozens of vintage, collectible and hyped sneakers as works of art – as they are. Think of them as Melburnian Mona Lisas, displayed on raised plinths behind velvet ropes with accompanying sneakerhead statements. A one-of-a-kind eBay prototype sneaker by Yeezy sample maker, Cesar Idrobo will also be available to view, and Sneaker Freaker will be on deck with coveted collaborations from past and present. Look but don’t touch!

Visitors can get more hands-on at eBay’s Department of Authentication, where the expert authenticators will share how they legit check the hundreds of pairs that pass through their hands and eyes each week.

The eBay Museum of Authentics will be open from April 29 to May 1 between 10AM and 5PM. Register for the free event here, show up, check in your bags, and see you there!
