An unreleased Drake promotional Air Jordan 4 prototype/sample has sold at Sotheby’s for a whopping $32,760.

Based on a mysterious colourway from 1989 (pictured below), this pair comes with a unique a paint splatter midsole portion and heel. The OVO Owl hides behind the heel tabs, while OVO/6 God branding features beneath the insoles. It’s also interesting to note that the pair is a US11, Drake’s actual size, as opposed to the standard US9 sample size.

The lucky (and loaded) winner of the auction will receive the brand new 4s in their original box, factory-laced, with their original cardboard inserts inside.

Being a prototype for a so-far unreleased model, it’s still unclear whether Drake will ever release a similar colourway to the public. Either way, the new owner has managed to snag a very rare pair.
