Deion Sanders and Nike Renew Relationship

NFL and MLB legend Deion Sanders is endorsing Nike again after a decade-plus-long separation. The 90s sports star took to Instagram to announce his imminent return to Team Swoosh over the weekend.

Since 2009 and up until recently, Sanders was signed to Under Armour after his prior relationship with Nike soured over the years. The deterioration reached a point where the athlete and now-coach went on record to claim that he would never wear Nike ever again. There clearly has been a change of heart, with UA releasing a statement that Sanders was no longer engaged in a partnership with the brand. Sanders has also been wearing Nike out of obligation as head coach of the University of Colorado Buffalos football team, who have been sponsored by the brand since 1995, but the partnership is now consummated with a likely financially-backed deal.

For sneakerheads, the reunion brings exciting prospects for the potential return of classic turf and baseball models worn by Sanders throughout his 90s prime. In particular, the Air Diamond Turf has been a retro favourite over the years and featured regularly throughout the 2010s. This rekindled flame seems to be a win-win situation for all.
