DC Shoes and Sabotage Productions Release Lynx OG Colab Along with Skate Doco

DC Shoes and Sabotage Productions are celebrating Philadelphia’s revered skate culture with a collaborative Lynx OG release and a mini documentary that celebrates LOVE Park. Named after the iconic ‘LOVE’ sculpture by Robert Indiana, LOVE Park is a key location on the East Coast skateboarding scene, with its iconic fountain, granite ledges, and curved steps providing the perfect playground.

The launch of DC Shoes back in 1994 enjoyed a serendipitous collision with the burgeoning skate scene in Philadelphia, with local legends like Josh Kalis embracing the brand’s ethos. The chunky Lynx OG played a big role in making DC synonymous with Philly’s skate community, and introduced hip hop style to the world of skate footwear.

When LOVE Park closed in 2004 for refurbishment, many mourned the end of a golden era for Philly skating. Thankfully, the crew at Sabotage Productions weren’t ready to let go just yet, jumping fences as the location was being reworked so they could capture some final film at the iconic venue. That footage is considered among the finest East Coast skateboarding of that time, with many of the riders rocking Lynx OGs that they’d purchased on eBay in their parts.

For the modern return of the Lynx OG, DC Shoes consulted those same Sabotage devotees to ensure all the details were just right. Formalising the union, DC and Sabotage Productions have now collaborated on a Lynx OG that features a heritage colourway, the original stash pocket, and Sabotage branding.

You can catch the documentary above, before the shoe releases on September 4 at the following retailers. For additional info, visit DC Shoes.
