Brace yourself: Salehe Bembury’s re- Croc-aissance is set to continue in 2023, the 37-year-old NYC designer inking a fresh two-year partnership extension with the brand. Named the Creative Director of the Crocs x Pollex Pod collection, Bembury will introduce several new silhouettes and colourways to the Crocs catalogue – the first of which is set to land in spring.

With Crocs and slip-ons economically bolstered by worldwide lockdowns in recent years, the breakthrough Salehe Bembury Pollex Croc has appeared in several colourways since its initial debut in 2021.

‘For many years, collaborations and product partnerships have been at the core of our brand strategy, and we are very proud of what we have been able to create in partnership with Salehe,’ said Michelle Poole, Crocs Brand President. ‘His unique approach to design has brought a fresh perspective to our molded form and enabled us to connect with new consumers. Looking ahead, we are excited to continue this partnership and extend into dynamic new silhouettes.’

Salehe Bembury’s Crocs Pollex Clog marked the first time Crocs had green-lit an outside to design their own mould. The dramatic topographical contouring was based on Bembury’s unique fingerprints and, of course, graced the cover of Sneaker Freaker issue 46.
