As part of a series of artistic installations across the world, Converse Australia announces Sneakers Clash Wall in Fremantle. Designed to disrupt and clash against a grey world, Sneakers Clash Wall is directly inspired by the bold and colourful creative spirit of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker.

From May 8 2014, the large and bland infrastructure of 1-5 South Terrace (Market Street) Fremantle, Western Australia will be transformed by Australian street artists Alex Lehours, Yok & Sheryo to create a truly democratic mural. Converse invites fans from around the world to interact with the artists and influence their creations by making suggestions of what to paint – forming a series of collaborations that will be anything but boring.

From Monday April 28, members of the public are invited to submit their ideas for the mural using the hashtag #sneakersclashfreo via Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Submissions can come in the form of words, photos, or video. The best submissions will be selected and interpreted by the artists to feature permanently on the iconic Market Street building.

SNEAKERS CLASH is inspired by the Spring 2014 Converse All Star sneaker collection, featuring dynamic colour pops and elevated silhouettes to provoke youthful self-expression. The hero of the collection is the – a new take on an American icon. Designed to clash against a grey world, this coveted sneaker is certain to stand out from the crowds with its striking heavy-grade canvas uppers and premium details. The six original colours and two prints of the Converse All Star Chuck ’70 will be the colour inspiration for the Sneakers Clash Wall. To view the range click here.
